Wood is not oil, it requires solicitude!
In recent years, the world has undergone stress. Hydrocarbons market began to behave unpredictable and the oil-rich countries divided into two camps: one – with rich and strong economy, which took care of the proper use of revenue in the previous years, the other - with countries which received with the power of fate free natural resource rents, but did not diversified its economy.
Countries which didn’t build its strategy on the careless usage of natural resources, but scrupulously formed business operations in harmonious relationships of human and nature got great benefit. These countries got a big burst of development after heavy world global downturn in financial, political and economic sphere. Although, unlike Oil and Gas, the Forest is growing, and despite the crisis it is a renewable resource, but it can easily become excised. The experience of civilizations gives examples of how the extermination and not taking care of the forest leads to a barren desert area, where there is no place to anyone.
Since 2008, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus in the framework of the specialized Exhibition "LesDrevTech" organizes an international conference "Investment and innovations in the forest industry of Belarus". From year to year, two coordinators develop this "tandem": National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo", attracting domestic and foreign experts and a group of "Capital" Companies providing administration of the conference participants, involving, with the help of Organizing Committee, the majority of stakeholders in the partnership companies and institutions around the world.
The format of the conference and main presentations on the most challenging issues in forestry, woodworking and sustainable environmental management is changing annually. Here are some forum topics of
past three years:

Year 2013 was held under the leadership of the Baltic States, Sweden and Italy, reflecting the progress of science and technology that caused not only in the interest of the Belarusian head enterprises, but also caused a heated discussions on the part of the Belarusian scientists who disagree with some views of today's European forestry concept. It was talked about our Belorussian forest its possibilities and the condition in comparison with the European and global approaches to biological diversity preservation and its smart use for the benefit of humanity.

In 2014 leadership took Russian regions (Yugra, Vologda). Russian directorship of the Federal Forestry Agency, entered into a heated discussions with representative delegation of the directorate of “Lasy Panstwowe” on opportunities and achievements of Russian forest sector, new philosophy and reproduction rates of forest in Poland.
Discussions were so enthusiastic that the participants couldn’t be distracted by any other events, exhibitions and business meetings of the organizing committee program, it was really hard or even impossible. Everyone is interested why the resource disaster occurs? What is the future of forestry, of woodworking and other industries connected with utilization of forest and natural resources in Belarus and our European neighbors? How do different countries follow the principles of Green economy and resource and environment renewal for future generations?

The year of 2015. Intensity of emotions on the forum was made by speeches of representatives of institutions of the forestry sector of Finland and Association of German forestry. Because of inability to find criteria of advantages in forestry sector, key speakers of these countries had to use football and hockey achievements as a balance of the effectiveness of the national forest resources.
Seeing such intensity and professionalism of the performances, the representatives of Eastern Siberia and Ukrainian regions, bordering with Belarus (delegation consists of 22 persons) stated with some regret in unison: “We can only envy the forestry of Belarus. Why don’t we have the same situation in this sphere?”
It should be admitted that there are some other opinions about forum effectiveness “Such a talking shop. Where is effectiveness? Where are investments? It’s a pity there are such opinions. We as administrators treat it with all seriousness and gratitude for being frank. We think that this comment is as important as gratitude expressed by the participants of the conference. Fairness of unflattering comments about effectiveness of “LesDrevTech” events bring us to serious revision both of organizational approaches of exhibition and conference and of the equality definition of requests and return of every participant and interested party.
Conducted international conference is intended to serve as the best place to borrow knowledge and competence. Every year, preparing script and format of the conference, the organizers make the participants of the event not to perceive it as a protocol sectoral meeting, but as a place or a club of competent communication, where everyone can speak out on the problems of the sector or the development of innovative ideas without fear to be misunderstood. However it doesn’t mean that participants, spending their time and resources, should present only as a listener or an informal expert. For this even one should prepare thoroughly and act not by decree, but by the professional call, proposing and actively acting. The responsibility of the success of these Events, Exhibition, Conference or business visit falls on every participant.
That’s why the exhibition and conference in 2016 takes a broader format, receiving also a new name “LESECOPROM”.
